What is Botulinum toxin?

What is the treatment?

The treatment is based on injection of botulinum toxin subcutaneously or intramuscularly, using a very fine needle. The preparation is given in the area of ​​wrinkles based on a defined scheme of a small amount of substance in several places. The botulinum toxin starts to work in about 72 hours. The full effect of its effects is noticeable up to 7-14 days. When the toxin ceases, the wrinkles are not as deep as before the treatment. The expression of muscles over time returns to the appearance before the treatment.

How long do the effects of botulinum toxin last?

How to prepare for the surgery?

7 days before the procedure, you can take supplements with vitamin K, which seals the endothelia of blood vessels, preventing internal bleeding. It has analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. One week prior to the procedure, aspirin should be discontinued.

What does the procedure look like?

Botulinum toxin can only be given by a qualified physician. The treatment is preceded by a medical consultation, during which the patient is qualified for the procedure, and determines where to apply the preparation, setting a therapy plan. Before proceeding with the procedure, an anesthetic preparation is applied to the treatment area to ensure comfort, reduce the feeling of pain that may occur during the procedure.

During the procedure, the doctor uses very thin needles, which minimizes discomfort during the procedure.

After the procedure, he can immediately return to his daily activities. The treatment does not affect the exclusion of the patient from daily functioning, and also the convalescence period is not required.

How long does the treatment last?

The duration of the procedure is about 30 minutes depending on the area and the place being treated. The result of the treatment is visible immediately after getting out of the treatment bed.
